Once a month, our Maternelle students will prepare and share a well-balanced meal together. Preparing these meals teaches students to follow instructions, use a variety of tools and materials, and taste and discover new healthy, seasonal foods. In addition, sharing a meal together promotes thoughtfulness toward each other and appreciation for finishing a project well.
The Maternelle students’ first meal was a huge success: grilled cheese sandwiches on homemade bread by the Preschool class, tomato and butternut squash soups by the Kindergarten class, and pumpkin-chocolate cake by the PreK class. Mmmm!
