During the week of October 19th, students in maternelle celebrated La Semaine du Goût,” a tradition in France that celebrates food and cuisine. In our maternelle program, students prepared their food from scratch, while learning elements of math and science throughout the cooking process. Additionally, students who are exposed to cooking at an early age learn to enjoy a variety of different foods, making them more willing to try new meals. At the end of each activity, students were able to enjoy their individualized treats, which included fruit salads and apple turnovers!
