Look Inside a Cell!
In science class, the 7th-grade students have been learning about classifying and exploring life, including cell structures and functions. They researched plant and animal cells to understand the making-up of living things. Despite looking different and carrying out different roles, cells share specific structures referred to as organelles (mini-organs).
Students built models that included labels of essential organelles and descriptions of the functions and analogies that related the organelles to various jobs as part of a larger whole. They used the materials of their choice, from cookie dough and candies to cardboard and Styrofoam, and apply their creativity to science!
Tip: Listen to the Organelles song inspired by the One Republic’s Counting Stars, a great way to memorize your science class!
